Hurrying from one thing to the next<\/p>\n

used to feel good,<\/p>\n

Like a person was important and in demand,<\/p>\n

like things were happening in one\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

But<\/p>\n

Hurrying makes one look ahead to the next thing,<\/p>\n

Multitask, multitask, multitask<\/p>\n

and forget to be here. Now.<\/p>\n

Hurrying means there is too much to do and not enough time to think about<\/p>\n

why we are trying to get so much done,<\/p>\n

and why we don\u2019t have much time to do what we enjoy,<\/p>\n

or notice the beauty around us.<\/p>\n

Right now.<\/p>\n

Why do we honk at the deer in the road, not slowing down,<\/p>\n

willing them to leap out of our way?<\/p>\n

Why don\u2019t we stop to look,<\/p>\n

to be where we are<\/p>\n

and appreciate these beautiful creatures<\/p>\n

who appeared in the road like an unexpected gift,<\/p>\n

a special surprise?<\/p>\n

Why not stop, look at them<\/p>\n

and be a few seconds late,<\/p>\n

but full of joy<\/p>\n

because we see their beauty?<\/p>\n

Perhaps hurrying makes us miss even more.<\/p>\n

Perhaps hurrying makes us even less important<\/p>\n

and less a part of this world.<\/p>\n

Be where you are<\/p>\n

and see what is around you<\/p>\n

Now.<\/p>\n
