An Inspiring Message From a Reader Friend

Jenny:

Thought I would share this with you since you are one of the reasons I got involved in transporting rescues.

As with most transports,  it looked like it was not going to pan out and might be cancelled, however, it did work out and I will be the oh so lucky one who gets to deliver the Newfie dog, Dominique, to her forever home. I am so stoked about it!  What a privilege and honor!

First and foremost, I really, really, really wanted to do this soooo bad this particular weekend for one main reason-I am doing it in honor of my friend who recently died on October 8th. She continually and unfailingly always supported me in my passion for animals-both monetarily and verbally-and always told me how proud of me she was. She was 86 years old and lived in Florida for the last 20 years or so and I have known her for over thirty years. Her memorial service is in FL this weekend and since I will not be there (SIGH) I thought it a perfect way to honor her since our friendship started with us both being involved in the West Suburban Humane Society. I will put my friend’s picture in the car to have her with me.

Secondly, having the last leg of the transport, how cool will it be to hand over a rescue dog to a new owner!!!!!!

I look forward to having a good weekend instead of a bad one as I anticipated when thinking of the service this weekend. What a perfect way to solve the issue-it must have happened for a reason! Thanks for listening…..

For the Animals

Gail

Update: Gail reported that the transport went without a hitch and Dominique is at her new home!
