Sheep Date

Today I found Cay with 2 rubber chickens, 2 bones, and 2 tennis ball bones in her crate! What a silly collector!

We went up to Pine City, Minnesota for Bandit and Chase’s sheep herding lessons. I took Cayenne along in her crate in the back seat. She got to get out, see some sheep and horses, and watch other dogs work sheep. She got to meet Kim and hear a snow blower (they were still trying to clear out their driveway from the snowstorm on Friday and Saturday). She sat with me while we watched other dogs work, and took in everything around her. She was very interested in the ducks as well as the other animals. Phyllis and Greta (who were also practicing herding with their dogs) mentioned that she might be a stumpy tail cattle dog, an actual breed. Phyllis thought that her tail looked natural, not docked. I have never seen a red stumpy tail cattle dog (Phyllis said she’d seen pictures of one), only a blue one that a friend of mine had. I’ll have to ask him what he thinks about Cay at the herding clinic next weekend.

On the way home, we stopped at the humane society to get Cay a microchip and nail trim. Now she has a chip!
