Meeting Josie and Roo

Cay rode along to Kim’s where Bandit, Chase, and I had sheep herding lessons today. Josie (cattle dog person) was there with her speckled blue “Roo”. I knew of Josie from the AuCaDo Forum and had corresponded with her about rescues by e-mail, but hadn’t met her before. She lives on the opposite side of Minneapolis-St. Paul from us. It was fun to finally meet her (and Roo too)!

When we got to Kim’s place, Bandit, Chase, and Cay got to run in a fenced field. They had fun running around and tearing back and forth at full speed. Kim walked Cay on the leash again, as she did last Saturday. Cay got to go in one of the wire kennels in the back of my truck while we had lessons, the first time she has jumped up in there. First she was in next to Chase, then she was in next to Bandit (who tends to put new dogs through a hazing process). Between lessons, I took Cay for a walk on leash. She got to see the horses, sheep, and a black German Shepherd working sheep. She did well today. This evening we consulted with Mary Getten. She found Cay to be very sweet and doing well here.
