Handsome Blue Male ACD Found Running Loose in East Bethel, MN

A blue male Australian Cattle Dog (ACD) was found running loose in East Bethel, MN on October 30th. He was found with no microchip or ID. He has completed his 6 day impound period at a vet clinic in Maplewood, MN. Nobody has claimed him and they are looking for a rescue to take him in. I thought I’d better check around first to see if anyone is looking for him. He is estimated by the vet clinic staff to be 3 or 4 years old. He appears to be well bred and I can’t help but wonder if someone is missing him.

He looks so much like an ACD that we rescued and adopted out through Homeward Bound, but Levi was most definitely neutered. This guy is not—yet.

This dog wants to chase cats. He is dominant with other dogs on leash, but tolerant. He was good with a submissive female. He has been ok with handling, uncomfortable with some of their (perhaps excessive) handling tests, but didn’t growl or snap. He is behaving well there, even though he has been cooped up most of the time. He hasn’t had any vetting at the impound yet, but seems healthy. The vet clinic where he is being impounded will offer vetting at 50% off to a potential adopter, but is really looking for a rescue group to take him. All of this info is courtesy of the vet clinic staff that have been taking care of him. I have not met him yet.

Please let me know this dog sounds familiar to you (I have photos), or if you know of a reputable rescue or potential adopter. We may eventually be able to take him into the Homeward Bound program, but can’t do that right away. The vet clinic wants to find him a good situation, so we have some time to work this out.
